We are now officially at 206 questions submitted to Nexus2020, but we still have room for more. Nexus2020 asks ‘What are the most important questions around business practice that, if answered, could help companies manage their dependencies and impacts upon food, energy, water and the environment?’
At the Natural Bridge workshop last week participants were guided through a number of steps to break down the question, for example to think about:
- What is the Nexus business issue that concerns you?
- What do we know about this issue? For example
- who are the main stakeholders and beneficiaries?
- does the issue affect others in your sector?
- what impacts are you already experiencing?
- What are the future impacts?
- What new information is needed to understand the situation and inform efforts to enhance sustainability?
- How do we find out this new information; what types of research are needed, what mix of academic disciplines need to be involved and over what timescale can be expect answers?
We are keen to involve as many businesses as possible in this activity. Yesterday, Gemma Cranston from CISL discussed Nexus2020 with over thirty CEOs, Executive Directors and Heads of business from across many different sectors – including extractives, retail, confectionary, finance and beverage, at the Prince of Wales’s Business and Sustainability Programme.
Gemma says
‘Competition was high to submit the best question!’.
Update 31 July 2015: QUESTION SUBMISSION IS NOW CLOSED.
